Scene Four
Jeremy Speaking (reprise)
The following morning, Jeremy tells of a romantic encounter he had last night. Whilst sheltering from the pouring rain, Jeremy met a beautiful girl - Cara May. Knowing little about her, Jeremy makes a number of assumptions.
Lights up on office stage right. Jeremy is at Millie`s desk.
Jeremy:
Morning, Chumley Mirror Offices
Jeremy speaking, how may I help you?
Mirrors on your stairway
Millie enters stage right and hangs Jeremy's coat on the hat stand.
The landing
The bathroom
We`ll send them right to you
May I take down your number?
Seven three zero four nine six eight one
Thankyou sir
Millie:
Morning Jem, you're not with us today
Jeremy:
Got some news
That'll blow your mind away
Met a girl
By the name of Cara-May
Millie :
Where did you meet?
Jeremy:
Late last night
Taking shelter from the rain
Millie:
What a romantic refrain
Jeremy:
At a glance
Saw the future in her eyes
Millie:
Love at first sight
Jeremy:
That's right
The sun came out that night
Millie:
Was she alone?
Jeremy:
Lost her purse
I payed her taxi home
Millie:
Her knight in suit and collar
You`ve met with your princess
Sounds like you were really meant to meet
Jeremy:
Morning, Chumley Mirror Offices
Jeremy speaking, how may I help you?
Reflections on your ceiling?
Why, yes that must be an unusual view
May I take down your number?
Treble three zero five two three eight seven

Millie:
Morning, Chumley Mirror Offices
Secretary speaking
So eager to help you
Dissatisfied, with your mirror?
You think that it`s faulty
(I bet you he`s ugly)
Write to Mr. Ron Chumley
List your complaint
And he`ll do what he can
Thankyou sir
Jeremy:
Treads the boards
She's a dancer on the stage.
Millie:
A ballerina?
Jeremy:
Of course
Millie:
Is she young?
Jeremy:
The perfect age
My whole lifes changed
My romance just begun
For she`s captured my heart
Millie and Jeremy end the scene sitting at Jeremy's desk stage left. Lights down stage right. Chumley enters stage right with bar stool and pint. Lights down on stage left. Jeremy and Milllie exit.
